September 2016 Edition

COMMUNITY FIRST! VILLAGE IS OPEN I visited my friends there at Mobile Loaves and Fishes model community. They had recently moved into new canvas tents. Rent is $220/mo all bills paid. There’s Wi-Fi too. The air about the place was still 102’, but so cool at how new people were moving in next to each other and all feeling the warm welcoming air of this tiny home village.

RUNNING AGAINST DRIVING DRUNK IN AUSTIN Our story begins during the Summer of 2011, on the pristine Pacific Northwest island of Bainbridge. Jackson Stewart
was enjoying his brief summer after graduating from Bainbridge High in June 2011. His future was bright: he accepted a scholarship to the University of Colorado, the Boulder college where he could delve into a science-focused curriculum while also continuing his pursuit of becoming an accomplished skier. That summer Jackson’s time was spent mainly partying and dishwashing.

June 2016 Edition

On Thursday May 12, 2016 Austin Mayor Steve Adler and Councilman Sabino “Pio” Renteria, along with Staff and Supporters, welcomed Homer the Goose to City Hall. The event included Homer receiving a permanent 36”x36”x48” display case that will make Homer’s Homeless education road show possible.
